Many of those who took part in the secession from the Dutch Reformed Church in 1834 experienced persecution, and for that reason they chose to emigrate to America where they experienced many struggles. Volume 10 in this series tells about their experiences. These stories include the forming of the Doleantie and the battle for Christian schools. Later in the book we read about the union between Ledeborian and Churches Under the Cross under the leading Rev. G.H. Kersten.
